Stuart Skeggs has been involved in the hospitality and tourism industry for over fifteen years. He is highly experienced in the management of hotels and resorts, with experience extending across all disciplines within the hospitality industry. He possesses a thorough understanding of the challenges faced by operators of hospitality businesses today, particularly in regional areas. He started in the industry when he owned and managed a café on Broadway in Nedlands. Selling the café after four years, Stuart then did a country stint, as publican of the Commercial Club Hotel in Mt Magnet. Stuart’s career then took him the Eastern States with the Saville Hotel Group. He worked two years in Brisbane as Assistant Manager of the Saville Abbey Hotel. An internal promotion then saw him transferred to Adelaide as General Manager of the Saville Director’s Hotel. After four years on the Eastern seaboard, and with a desire to return to Western Australia, Stuart accepted the position of General Manager with the Atrium Hotel in Mandurah in 2002. In 2005, Stuart was appointed to the position of General Manager of Seashells Resort Mandurah. He presided over the successful opening of the resort in December 2005. The resort went on to win Best New Tourism Development in the 2006 Western Australian Tourism Awards and receive a High Commendation in the Australian Tourism Awards.
