Lyle Barker
A talented Head Chef and versatile hospitality professional Lyle has run a number of hotels and venues overseeing both the front and back of house of operations. Originally from Montana USA, Lyle developed a passion for cooking in the family baking business. His formal qualifications came from his apprenticeship with Don Doig, a disciple of Julia Childs.
He moved to Australia in 1988 and worked in a number of restaurants on the East Coast before moving to Perth. He also holds a marketing diploma and has been involved in consulting and marketing of a number of restaurant operations. Lyle is also passionate about “Greening of Restaurants” and environmental issues within hospitality.
One of Lyle’s major areas of expertise is in menu and food costing and he has been instrumental in reducing food costs to record levels in a number of establishments.
Lyle has an expansive background including being a Head Chef, Food and Beverage Manager, Purchasing Officer, Senior Sales Executive as well as Marketing Manager for a Software Development Company.
His industry knowledge and his work as a chef enables Lyle to provide hospitalitybiz® clients with skillful chefs to compliment their own kitchen brigade either on a temporary or permanent basis.
